Ethane gained about 5 cts/gal, while naphtha and propane both rose about 8 cts/gal. Butane gained about 5 cts/gal. U.S. spot olefins mostly moved higher, as ethylene and propylene each ticked up about 2 cts/lb, players say. However, spot butadiene lost about 2 cts/lb. January propylene contracts have been nominated at an increase of 3-5 cts/lb, while January butadiene contracts have been nominated at decrease of about 2 cts/lb, market sources say.
