Tumbling primary hydrocarbon prices put downward pressure on petrochemicals this week, as ethane lost about 2 cts/gal, naptha dropped about 3 cts/gal and butane fell 5 cts/gal. U.S. spot ethylene gained a penny, while notional chemical-grade propylene numbers are up about 13 cts, in line with polymer-grade material, market sources say.
