Ethane gained 3 cts/gal, while propane and butane both rose 2cts/gal. However, naphtha lost 2 cts/gal. Among U.S. olefins, spot ethylene rose about a penny, to 26-27 cts/lb, while spot butadiene continued to climb, gaining about 4 cts/lb this week. There is still no word on the two-month ethylene contract, market players say. August propylene contracts settled at a gain of 4 cts/lb, bringing polymer-grade to 45 cts/lb and chemical-grade to 43.5 cts/lb. Two recent spot polymer-grade deals...
