Crude oil prices plunged last week as financial turmoil in the U.S. fueled expectations of weaker demand. A decline in natural gas prices has provided some relief to chemical makers. Spot numbers are now down almost half from their summer peak. Cracker feedstocks were lower in a range of 2 cts-6 cts/gal. Spot naphtha in Europe was down $70/m.t.
