Oil prices rose slightly last week, but the rate was slow enough that most petrochemical markets were more heavily influenced by internal supply-demand situations than by the external factors of energy costs, market players say. Spot naphtha in Northwest Europe nudged higher by $10/m.t. Light feeds rose in the U.S. by about 2 cts-3 cts/gal. The U.S. Gulf Coast ethylene contract for October settled 3 cts/lb higher.
