Soaring crude prices pushed feedstocks higher in the U.S. last week, with ethane trading above 100 cts/gal. Propane gained 2 cts/gal, while butane surged ahead 7 cts/gal. Both spot ethylene and propylene added a penny on rising input costs and reduced run rates at heavy feed crackers. European spot naphtha prices gained $35/m.t., tightening the margins for olefins producers. Spot ethylene and propylene prices in Europe slipped €10/m.t.
