Spot petrochemical markets took a pause last week after a period of high volumes and volatility in late August and early September. Market watchers say it was as if players were resting between the flurry of September contract settlements and fourth-quarter discussions that will begin in earnest this week. European spot naphtha eased lower by €10/m.t., in line with seasonal softening in motor fuels, while U.S. naptha was reported 3 cts down. Aromatics were calm last week.
