Propylene producers were only able to squeeze out a 0.75 cts/lb increase, however. Polypropylene prices have soared, especially in Europe, in recent months so monomer sellers anticipated little resistance moving prices higher. But buyers countered that C3 prices had already risen higher and faster than had C2 numbers. On spot markets, U.S. Gulf Coast olefins prices rose by about a penny.
