On the U.S. Gulf Coast spot material shed 6 cts/gal, while northwest European naphtha finished even with a week ago after peaking $15/m.t. intraweek. In the U.S., ethane lost 2 cts/gal while propane gained a penny. Cheaper feeds were a bonus for olefins producers who also saw rising prices last week. Both spot ethylene and propylene on the U.S. Gulf gained 1 cts/gal, while the May butadiene contract was agreed to with a sharp increase of 8 cts/lb from April.
