In the U.S., both ethane and naphtha eased lower by 2 cts/gal, while propane lost 1 ct/gal. Spot ethylene prices lost a penny on easing crude oil prices, but propylene prices had yet to react, sources say. Higher settlements of first-quarter contracts and continuing demand in derivative markets bode well for European olefins, sources say.
