Costs to Remain on the Watch List Many specialty chemical suppliers say they are concerned about growth prospects this year as the economies of the U.S., Western Europe, and that of the once fast-growing emerging regions slows considerably. Major suppliers have fairly robust and well-developed processes for increasing prices, but many are struggling to keep up with increasing costs, especially for feedstock intermediates, analysts say. These firms will be hamstrung with little prospect of growth this year unless they bring input costs more in line with demand...
