Specialty chemical makers are cautious but say they expect demand to improve compared to 2009. Customers, especially those exposed to consumer markets, have completed or are nearly finished destocking their inventories, which will most likely result in increased demand this year, producers say. Ongoing or newly established cost savings programs will help boost earnings this year, specialty chemical makers say.
