The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (Moscow) forecasts a slowdown in Russia’s GDP growth to 6.4% in 2008, from 7.3% in 2007. The ministry cites an anticipated decline in growth of energy exports and mounting problems with infrastructure. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (London) expects economic growth of 6.5% for Russia in 2008.
