Specialty chemical makers have worked to wring out costs, reduce headcount, and re-size manufacturing in response to the sharp global downturn and resulting lower volumes. Suppliers say they must act now, before an overall economic recovery, by working to get closer to the key customers and markets that can drive recovery and grow faster than the economy.
