M&A activity in the chemical industry is continuing at a healthy pace so far this year, but much recent attention has been focused on rumors of potential blockbuster deals. Most of the speculation involves either private equity firms that are flush with cash, or chemical companies armed with high stock prices and strong balance sheets.
