Latin America remains a heterogeneous region when it comes to the development of the chemical and petrochemical sectors. Brazil and Mexico remain the big players, although other countries in the region are seeking to develop petrochemical potential. While the region aims to reduce dependency on imports, regional demand will continue to outpace local supply despite several planned and announced projects. Brazil remains the largest market in Latin America despite cost and feedstock pressures. Its growth rate has slowed and is expected to be around 2.4% this year...
