Genencor: Betting on the Viability of Bio-Based Feedstocks

Six months ago the price of sweet crude oil hit $147/barrel and not long before that some analysts predicted it could go as high as $200/bbl. The situation prompted some chemical companies to investigate the viability of replacing crude oil components with those derived from bio-based raw materials.
