High Prices Likely to Come Down Fertilizer prices are expected to sag in the near-term, due to larger-than-anticipated inventories, analysts say. Fertilizer firms expect challenging demand conditions to persist this year and have announced drastic production cuts. PotashCorp says it will reduce potash output by 20%, or 2 million m.t., beginning this month. “Farmers, like any other consumer, are feeling the impact of the global financial crisis,” the company says.
