Executives Post Solid Gains in 2011

Chemical industry executives saw considerable gains in overall compensation in 2011. The median increase for the 42 CEOs who held the same title in 2011 and 2010 was 7.7%. That is down from the 43% jump in 2010, which saw sharp gains fueled by a strong recovery in earnings and share prices coming out of recession. The CW 75 Index fell 6.7% during 2011 in a roller-coaster year for equities. Buckley: $25.4 million for 3M CEO. Gallogly: $23.5 million for LyondellBasell CEO.
