Weak U.S. Demand Heads North Canadian chemical producers expect sales value to be down 27% in 2009, or 13% on a volume basis. That is because the 2008 slowdown will continue “well into 2009” and weakness in the U.S. housing and automobile markets has worsened, according to results of a survey conducted by the Canadian Chemical Producers Association (CCPA; Ottawa).
