Anticipating Decisions on Major Petchem Projects Brazil will be the center of Latin American chemical investment this year, with several major projects planned or already under way, executives say. Brazil’s national economic development bank BNDES (Rio de Janeiro) has outlined an $8-billion investment plan through 2010, with much of that centered on the grassroots Comperj petrochemical project at Itaborai, Rio de Janeiro state.
