Chemical Week Magazine :: Companies Industry Takes Belgium to Court Over Deca-BDE10:26 AM MDT | July 25, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Member companies of the Bromine Science and Environmental Forum (BSEF; Brussels), an industry group, say they have begun legal proceedings against the Belgian government to prevent polymeric versions of the flame retardant deca-brominated diphenyl ether (deca-BDE) from being banned in electrical equipment in that country. The law being challenged by BSEF members is the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) in electrical and electronic equipment, which came into force across the European Union last July.
