Indian-Syrian JV Plans Major Urea Complex in Egypt

Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT; Kochi, India) says it is considering plans to invest Rs2 billion ($450 million) to build an ammonia and urea complex in Egypt. FACT says it has signed a preliminary agreement to form a joint venture with Adi Establishment (Damascus) to construct the plant, which will have capacity to produce 700,000 m.t.-1 million m.t./year of urea.
