Chemical Week Magazine :: Companies DPT, Carbide Provide Butanol Technology to Saudi Plant9:50 AM MDT | July 25, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Davy Process Technology (DPT) says it has been selected, jointly with Union Carbide—a Dow Chemical subsidiary—to provide technology for an n-butanol plant planned by Dammam 7 Petrochemical Ltd. (Dammam, Saudi Arabia) at Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The plant will have a capacity of 80,000 m.t./year, and is due to be completed in 2008. DPT and Carbide will supply LP Oxo Selector 30 technology for the plant. LP Oxo technology is a low-pressure hydroformylation process that uses propylene and synthesis gas to make n-butyraldehydes and isobutyraldehydes. The...
