Actavis Buys Indian API Business

Generic pharmaceuticals manufacturer Actavis (Hafnarfjordur, Iceland) says it has acquired the active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) division of Sanmar Specialty Chemicals Ltd. (SSCL; Chennai, India). The acquisition price was not disclosed. Wessman: ‘Superior’ integration. The deal reinforces Actavis’s business in India, and completes the company’s pharma value chain in that country, Actavis says.
