Williams delays restarting Geismar cracker to July

Williams Partners (Williams; Tulsa, OK) has pushed restarting its Geismar, LA, ethylene plant back one month, to July. Williams expects sales from the facility to begin in mid-August. The Geismar plant has been off-line since June 2013, when an explosion killed two employees. At the time, the plant was in the midst of a $500-million expansion project. When the plant restarts, its capacity will have increased by 600 million lbs/year, to 1.95 billion lbs/year.
