Westlake Chemical says it will convert its Calvert City, KY ethylene plant from propane to ethane feedstock as it seeks to take advantage of improved economics for lighter feedstocks as ethane extraction capacity expands significantly in the US. Westlake also plans to increase ethylene capacity at the site from 450 million lbs/year, to 630 million lbs/year, as part of the coversion.
