Vale extends deadline on tax-break request for potash project

Vale (Rio de Janeiro) could extend, beyond 28 February, a deadline given to the Argentinian government requesting a $2-billion tax break during the development phase of the company’s Rio Colorado potash project, according to a report in the La Nueva Provincia news service. Vale’s request was denied earlier this month by the Mendoza, Argentina, provincial government, according to the Buenos Aires Herald newspaper.
