Umicore to buy CP Chemicals’ business and assets in Ohio

Materials technology and recycling group Umicore (Brussels) says it has agreed to acquire the business and assets of CP Chemicals at Wickliffe, OH. CP is a refiner and recycler of cobalt- and nickel-containing secondary materials, such as superalloy scrap, and it transforms these into chemicals for the catalyst and petrochemical refining industries. CP also recycles rhenium from superalloy turbine blades used in the aviation industry.
