Toray buys land in South Carolina, will invest about $1 billion in US

Toray Industries says it has purchased about 400 acres of commercial land in Spartanburg County, SC, for its future business expansion in the United States. Toray, which already operates a wide range of US businesses, including fibers and textiles, plastic resins, films, carbon fiber composites, and water treatment materials, says the United States is expected to regain its industrial competitiveness on the back of the shale gas and oil revolution and the resultant revival in manufacturing.
