Senate Advances TSCA Reform Bill, Divides Parties

LautenberG: The time for change is now. The Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works has passed a bill that would overhaul the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), the first Congressional vote on TSCA since the 1976 law took effect. The bill, sponsored by Senator Frank Lautenberg (D., NJ), is a “major milestone in our effort to fix America’s broken system for regulating toxic chemicals,” Lautenberg says.
