Sabic to Pay Clean Air Fine

EPA says Sabic Innovative Plastics has agreed to pay $1 million in civil penalties and about $4 million in plant renovations to settle Clean Air Act violations at its Mt. Vernon, IN and Burkville, AL sites. The settlement includes an agreement for Sabic to implement a comprehensive program to reduce emissions of hazardous air pollutants from leaking equipment such as valves and pumps.
