Rohm and Haas Warns on Earnings But Sees 2008 Rebound

Rohm and Haas (R&H) says it expects to post fourth-quarter earnings from continuing operations of 75 cts-80 cts/share, 7%-10% below current average analyst estimates of 86 cts/share. The company reported earnings of 76 cts/share in the year-ago quarter. R&H says revenue growth is solid in the current quarter, but earnings will be hurt by the run-up in raw materials, which have increased $60 million over the same period in 2006.
