Monsanto Narrows Loss on Seed Sales, Buys Bee Health Firm

Bee Die-off: Disease, or chemicals to blame? Monsanto beat street expectations for its seasonally weak fourth quarter ended August 31, reporting a net loss of $112 million (21 cts/share). Analysts expected the company to post a wider loss of 27 cts/share, according to Thomson Reuters (New York). The company posted a loss of $143 million in the same year-ago quarter.
