LyondellBasell Completes Solvay Polymers Purchase

LyondellBasell Industries has completed its acquisition of Solvay Engineered Polymers (SEP; Mansfield, TX) from Solvay. Terms were not disclosed. The deal was first announced by Basell last November, before Basell merged with Lyondell Chemical (CW, Nov. 28/Dec. 5, 2007, p. 6) The acquisition will provide customers “with a broader product portfolio and expanded customer support and application capabilities,” says Paul Yeates, senior v.p./advanced polyolefins at LyondellBasell.
