Kvaerner Lands Petrobras PTA Contract

Petrobras and Brazil-based Companhia Integrada Têxtil do Nordeste (Citene) say they have selected Aker Kvaerner to carry out basic and detailed engineering design, and provide offshore procurement services, for a purified terephthalic acid (PTA) project at Pernambuco, Brazil. The companies have formed a 50-50 joint venture, dubbed PetroquimicaSuape, to operate the plant.
