IHS Chemical: Basic Chemical Demand to Hit 1 Billion m.t. in 2020

Global petrochemical and plastics demand will expand about 4.4%/year through 2020, Gary Adams, chief advisor for IHS Chemical, told attendees at IHS Chemical’s recent World Petrochemical Conference in Houston. Surging demand in high-growth economies and capacity expansion in low-cost production regions will accelerate global trade of petrochemicals and plastics, Adams says.
