Huntsman breaks ground on Port Neches EO expansion

Huntsman began installation of a third ethylene oxide (EO) unit at its Port Neches, TX, site on 22 October. The 120,000-m.t./year unit will increase the site’s EO capacity by 25%, the company says. Huntsman expects the new unit to begin operating in the second quarter of 2015. “This expansion solidifies Huntsman’s position as one of the largest producers of ethylene oxide in North America,” says Stu Monteith, president/performance products at Huntsman.
