Evonik plans to build US MMA plant

Evonik Industries has started basic planning for a large-scale methyl methacrylate (MMA) production plant at the company’s Mobile, AL complex. The investment in the project will be in the three-digit million euro range, Evonik says. The plant, with a production capacity of 120,000 m.t./year, is expected to come onstream in the middle of 2015. The project is awaiting the approval of the relevant bodies, the company says.
