EPA Proposes Revised Annual Standard for Fine Particles

EPA says its proposed rule for particle pollution, or soot, would revise the annual standard for fine particles (PM-2.5) from 15 micrograms per cubic meter (mg/cu meter) to 12 or 13 micrograms mg/cu meter. EPAâ€™s science advisory experts had recommended an annual standard for fine particulates of 11-13 mg/cu meter.
