Chemical Week Magazine :: Business & Finance :: United States/Americas DuPont Bid for Majority Stake in Pannar Seed Denied8:41 AM MDT | October 28, 2011 | —REBECCA COONS DuPont says the South African Competition Tribunal (Johannesburg) has rejected its bid to buy a majority stake in Pannar Seed (Greytown, South Africa), Africa’s largest seed firm. The tribunal upheld a prior Competition Commission decision made in December 2010. DuPont’s Pionner Hi-Bred seed business announced the deal in September 2010. DuPont says the deal would allow each business to access additional regions, reach more customers, and deliver improved seed products.
