Dow postpones project for green polyethylene in Brazil

Triunfo Triumph: Braskem started up the world’s first PE plant based on ethanol-derived ethylene in late 2010. Dow Chemical says it is postponing its Santa Vitória, Brazil, biobased ethylene and polyethylene (PE) project with Mitsui & Co. because of escalating costs, legal uncertainties in Brazil, and capital spending cuts Dow announced late last year.
