Dow and Arch Each Boost Biocide Capacity

Dow Chemical and Arch Chemicals each have announced plans to expand their respective biocide businesses. The news follows recent announcements by other suppliers, including Lanxess and International Specialty Products (ISP), of increasing investments in the $3 billion-$4 billion global biocides market. Dow Biocides, a business unit of Dow, says it plans to boost capacity of the biocide glutaraldehyde by 60% at Institute, WV. Capacity and investment amounts were not disclosed.
