CPChem to boost ethylene at Old Ocean by 200 million lbs

Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) plans to add a 10th furnace to an existing ethylene unit at its Sweeny Complex, at Old Ocean, TX, increasing ethylene production capacity by 200 million lbs/year, the company announced last week. The construction of the furnace, which has been approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), will begin during the third quarter with start-up to follow in 2014, CPChem said....
