Braskem divests water treatment units to Odebrecht Environmental

Braskem has sold a water treatment affiliate and a majority stake in a waste treatment firm to Odebrecht Environmental (São Paulo) for a combined 652 million reais ($318 million), according to local reports. The assets are part of the Camaçari petrochemical complex in northern Brazil. Braskem late last month announced the sale of the assets, which include water treatment concern Distribuidora de Aguas Camaçari and a 54.2% stake in Cetrel, an industrial waste treatment firm.
