Chemical Week Magazine :: Business & Finance :: United States/Americas Basell and Lyondell to Take New Name After Merger11:28 AM MST | November 7, 2007 | Kate Phillips Basell and Lyondell Chemical will be renamed LyondellBasell Industries, following completion of their proposed merger. “The new name will keep two well-respected names in the forefront of the polyolefins, chemicals, and refining industries,” says Basell CEO Volker Trautz. The companies also plan a LyondellBasell brand rollout once the merger is completed. Basell agreed to acquire Lyondell last July for $12.7 billion in an all-cash transaction (CW, July 25, p. 8).
