Asahi Kasei Fibers Closes Spandex Operations in U.S.

Asahi Kasei Fibers (AKF), an Asahi Kasei subsidiary, says it will discontinue the manufacture and sale of spandex at its Asahi Kasei Spandex America (AKSA) subsidiary, located in Bushy Park Industrial Complex at Goose Creek, SC. The move is part of a restructuring of AKF’s spandex operations in order to improve business results. The manufacturing operations of AKSA will be discontinued effective October 2012.
