Chemical Week Magazine :: Business & Finance :: United States/Americas Cost of Braskem’s Comperj project could exceed $5 billion7:10 AM MST | February 15, 2013 | —Francinia Protti-Alvarez The petrochemical portion of the Complejo Petroquimica Rio de Janeiro (Comperj) project at Itaborai, Brazil, will eventually require an investment of more than $5 billion, says Carlos Fadigas, president of Braskem, quoted in a report by Brazilian online news channel R7 Notícias. Comperj consists of a refinery to be built by Petrobras and a petrochemical project led by Braskem. Investments announced so far for the Comperj petrochemicals project are valued at $3.2 billion.
