Many chemical companies are looking to step into the supply gap opened by the explosion and fire at Evonik’s Marl, Germany cyclodecatriene (CDT) plant (CW, April 16/23, p. 10). The explosion led to a shortage of nylon-12, a CDT-derived product that is crucial to the automotive supply chain.
