DuPont to Build Commercial Scale Bio-Based Ethanol Plant in Iowa

DuPont subsidiary DuPont Danisco Cellulosic Ethanol says its will build a commercial-scale biorefinery at Nevada, IA to produce fuel-grade ethanol from cellulose. The cellulose will be derived from corn and wheat stover, which includes dried cobs, stalks and leaves left after harvesting. The company will invest about $275 million to build the plant, which will be located adjacent to a conventional ethanol plant owned by Lincolnway Energy (Nevada, IA).
